As part of the disciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching activity, the Doctoral course in Technologies and Sciences for Human Health includes a training process consisting of three courses set up ad hoc for the doctoral course and nine courses borrowed from master's degree courses of the University of Palermo related to the areas of interest of the Doctorate (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Medicine). PhD students must attend frontal lessons for at least 120 hours, with final verification.
The seminar activities are carried out in English. The thesis is written in English. The CLA (Ateneo Language Center) organizes language training courses open to PhD students. The CLA also provides courses of Italian for foreigners open to foreign students of the PhD program.
Basic computer science and programming courses will take place.
Research management, knowledge of research systems and financing systems
PhD students will participate in the cycle of events organized annually by the University of Palermo, in collaboration with the Working Group on the European Researchers Charter as part of the European Commission Project: Human Resource Strategy for Researchers, which includes lectures and orientation seminars on People programs (researcher mobility) and other European programs, as well as other external funding opportunities for research.
Enhancement of research results and intellectual property:
PhD students will participate in the cycle of events organized annually by the University of Palermo and by the ARCA Consortium (start-up of the University) as part of the European Commission Project: Human Resouce Strategy for Researchers, which provides orientation lessons and seminars on Spin -off academic and enhancement of intellectual research results.
