The PhD Course in Architecture, Arts and Planning provides for the obligation to spend cumulatively at least three months at one or more foreign locations and the possibility of awarding a joint or double doctoral degree. 

The period abroad may be extended up to the maximum limit envisaged by the regulations in force. 
For the periods abroad, approved in advance by the College, an increase in the grant is envisaged thanks to the resources provided for by Ministerial Decree 226 (10% of the grant amount) for research activities intended primarily for national and international mobility. 

Mobility activities are also encouraged through dedicated Erasmus grants and make use of the numerous international cooperation relations set up by the College's lecturers.
