The prizes, worth one million lire each, have been handed out during a commemorative cerimony, on May 17, 2001, at the Department of Biology, Viale delle Scienze, Parco d'Orleans.

During the same cerimony, some purchase vouchers for books and/or records have been handed out to other youths who had been mentioned, as a memento of the event.
