Progetto MARE

Project Management

WP1 deals with the management of the MARE project and great emphasis has been placed on ensuring optimal organisation, management and decision-making structure of the project. It involves strategic planning, team organization, monitoring, and quality assurance.

History, society and cultural circulation in the Mediterranean

WP2 fosters internationalization by enhancing student/teacher mobility in double degree programs (Italy, Morocco, Tunisia), creating interdisciplinary research groups in social sciences and humanities, and improving mobility processes. Activities include mobilities, research collaborations, and innovative practices.

Migration, social and political change

WP3 enhances international credits, teaching, and research mobility through capacity building with MENA partners within the framework of advanced skills for the benefit of students, PhD candidates, teaching and administrative staff. It supports Double Degrees and Diploma Supplement programs and creates the MARE Centre for Advanced Studies on socio-political change, focusing on education, migration, and cultural studies.

One Health

WP4 advances the “One Health” approach by integrating human, animal, and environmental health through interdisciplinary curricula, mobility, and training programs. Activities include a new Master’s program, summer school, and stakeholder engagement.

Sustainable Development and Climate Change

WP5 strengthens internationalization through sustainability-focused education, mobility, and research aligned with SDGs. Activities include mapping sustainability courses, designing a blended training program for staff, and running a mobility scheme with Tunisian universities on agriculture in arid environments.

Renewable Energy and Sustainable Mobility

WP6 promotes renewable energy and sustainable mobility through new Double Degree programs, advanced training, and regional collaboration. Activities include curricula development, capacity-building courses in Jordan and Morocco, and a plenary conference.

Sustainable Tourism

WP7 strengthens cooperation with Jordan and Morocco in sustainable tourism through student/staff mobility and new curricula. Activities include skills gap analysis, Training of Trainers, and teaching staff training

Employability, Entrepreneurship and Inclusion in the digital age

WP8 promotes entrepreneurship, employability, and inclusion in the digital age through training modules, mobility, and summer school activities. It develops programs on digital skills and competitive grants, expands double degrees with Mediterranean partners, and integrates employability themes into migrant-focused summer schools.

Student and Staff Mobility

WP9 strengthens international cooperation through student and staff mobility with Southern Mediterranean countries. Coordinated by UNIPA, it builds on Erasmus+ experiences to enhance teaching, research, and skills development. Tasks include planning and implementing incoming/outgoing mobility for students, teachers, and staff, fostering internationalization, attractiveness, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Communication and Dissemination

WP10 coordinates project-wide dissemination and communication to maximize visibility and impact. Activities include developing a dissemination plan, visual identity, website, and communication materials, plus webinars, events, and social media campaigns.
