Abstract

This paper offers an analysis of tourism in the municipalities of the Focus Area in Sicily, based on a review of available official tourism statistics. It highlights the potential presence of so-called "unobserved tourism," stemming from the use of non-registered properties for tourism purposes, which are not reflected in official statistics. The study examines the main tourism indicators to provide a temporal and territorial overview of tourism in the area, within the framework of the Nationally Relevant Research Project (PRIN) B4R
