Course Objectives
The training pathway is designed in line with the general Ministerial guidelines for University System planning and with the University's Strategic Plan, which aims to strengthen and enhance the Research Doctorate in an international perspective.
The doctoral programme targets focused training in a field — that of quantum technologies and, in particular, the hybridisation of classical artificial intelligence with quantum mechanics — of enormous technological and scientific potential, with significant economic and productive implications at the regional, national, and international level.
The key training objectives (both specific and transversal) of the Programme are outlined as follows:
- Design, analysis and use of new theoretical, computational and experimental platforms for the integration of Artificial Intelligence techniques in the development of quantum technologies.
- Identification of the fundamental quantum resources for the development of new algorithms and methods for machine learning (quantum reservoir computing; quantum machine learning).
- Application of methods and techniques for quantum data processing to quantum chemistry, computational chemistry, pharmaceutics, biotechnology, materials science, finance and trading, diagnostics, and imaging.
