The PhD course in 'Quantum Artificial Intelligence' aims to train professionals with a cultural and scientific background specifically dedicated to the development of quantum AI — that is, the development of data processing methods based on artificial intelligence (AI) assisted and enhanced by the use of quantum mechanics.

The programme, based at the University of Palermo and affiliated with Sapienza University of Rome, the National Institute of Astrophysics, and the RiMED Foundation, offers an outstanding training path built on experimental, theoretical, analytical and computational skills in the fields of physics, astrophysics, and biomedicine. The programme benefits from collaboration and interaction with leading national and international centres in the context of quantum technologies, including the University of Bologna, the University of Naples Federico II, the University of Padua, and the Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems of the University of the Balearic Islands.
