Unemployment Benefit for PhD Students and Research Fellows - - DIS-COLL

Listen

The DIS-COLL service is a monthly unemployment benefit established for coordinated and continuous collaborators, including project-based ones, who have involuntarily lost their jobs.

The DIS-COLL unemployment benefit is available to coordinated and continuous collaborators, including project-based workers, who involuntarily lost their jobs after January 1, 2015, and who are registered exclusively with the INPS Separate Management System. Starting July 1, 2017, the benefit was also extended to research grant recipients and PhD students with scholarships.

When to apply (from the INPS website)

The application must be submitted exclusively to INPS electronically within 68 days of the termination of the collaboration relationship, starting from the date of termination of the last collaboration contract/research grant/PhD with scholarship.

If a compensable maternity or hospital stay occurs within the 68 days, the term remains suspended for the entire period and then restarts for the remaining part.

How to apply

  • INPS Web site
  • Via call center: 803 164 (free from a landline) or 06 164 164 from a mobile network;
