Unipa Springer Series

Listen

The agreement signed between the University of Palermo and Springer in 2013 has given rise to the English-language editorial project  Unipa Springer Series and is the first initiative of co-branding for the international editor in the Italian scenario. The variety of editorial products and of scientific areas involved also constitutes a challenge at international level.

Institutional users can access the published volumes at SpringerLink.

The project allows the scientific community of the University to publish high quality research and teaching books, including monographs, handbooks, advanced textbooks, conference proceedings, research works derived from Phd theses, and also journals.

The authors of the Unipa Springer Series will have the possibility to offer their research products through an high quality distribution channel and will benefit from the commercial infrastructure of Springer.

The initiative is open to both UNIPA researchers and scientists from other universities. The editorial products will cover five core disciplines:

  • Clinical Medicine (Areas 06-07)
  • Medical, Biomedical & Life Sciences (Area 05)
  • Engineering & Physical Sciences (Areas 02-03-04-08-09)
  • Mathematics, Statistics & Computer Science (Area 01)
  • Business, Economics & Law (Areas 12-13)
  • Human, Behavioral & Social Sciences (Areas 10-11-14).

Professor Annamaria Bartolotta is Unipa appointed referent for the project and is the current Editor-in-chief. The Editorial Board members are jointly appointed by Springer and Unipa and and now consists of five members selected by Springer from the international scientific community and of six members selected among Unipa faculty members.

The Unipa Library System Assessment and Digital Reference Unit staff (within the University Library System) is in charge of the technical secretariat of the initiative.
