Abstract

This article provides an overview of the studies dedicated by Matteo Marrone (1929-2020) to Roman civil procedure, beginning with his dissertation of 1950. It focuses on his study, published in 1970 as a course of lectures on Roman law, which was dedicated to the legal standing of a defendant sued in a rei vindicatio under the formulary procedure of the classical period.
