Abstract
The centenary of Gilbert Simondon's birth was a key moment to retrace the reception of his thought in Italy and to understand what the future paths to beat may be. Simondon's philosophy certainly had a slow Italian reception as, in fact, it did in France as well. I believe that this is due not only to the difficult history of editions of his doctoral theses, considered his main works, but also by the difficult placement of Simondon's theses within an extremely fragmented and specialized philosophical landscape. An in-depth study of his biography shows that Simondon himself had great difficulties due to his reluctance to be caged into roles and definitions as well as a certain reluctance to public exposure in all circles (including especially academia) that made his “encyclopedic” philosophy pass “by in silence.”
