Abstract
The Palace of Justice in Pisa by Gaetano Rapisardi (1936 and subsequent) and the Palace of Justice in Palermo by Ernesto and Gaetano Rapisardi (1937 and subsequent) did not benefit from the critical clearing that affected much of the architecture of the twenty years. The two works, precisely because they were built in the period between the "Reconstruction" and the "Economic Miracle", were able to be equipped with onerous definitions which, perhaps, in the "Autarchic" period would have been unthinkable. Yet, comparing the dates of construction, not only do both courthouses share the same fate but they belong to a phenomenon that still awaits more careful investigations.
