Proyecciones femeninas literarias en el pensamiento de María Zambrano

Abstract

The thought and work of María Zambrano often focuses on literary discourse as an ontological model of the world. The novel is thus formed, for the thinker, as a possibility of knowledge and revelation, since the narrative – with its plausible representations of reality – opens the way to even the most daring visions, as well as the most symbolic solutions for the individual and collective dramas. A favorite area is dedicated to female figures of letters, myth, and history. Alongside Sappho, Diotima of Mantinea, Heloise, Antigone, Lucretia of León, Beatrice, Joan of Arc, Catherine of Siena, Bernadette, Simone Weil, Cordelia and Ophelia, among others, there are some protagonists of the Spanish literary tradition, such as Celestina, Dulcinea and the “disinherited” women of Galdós, Isidora, Nina, Tristana, Fortunata. Without leaving aside the possibilities that the heteronymic projection provides to the thinker through her Ana de Carabantes.
