Il Papato di Clemente XI e l’Albania del Settecento

Abstract

This volume collects contributions that various scholars from different Italian universities have dedicated to the historical-cultural period dominated by the pontificate of Clement XI (1700-1721). These essays focus on some unknown aspects of Albanian cultural history in the first half of the 18th century and recognize in Clement XI the inspiration and staunch supporter of the Albanian "First Renaissance", the cultural movement that marks the initial phase from which the long process of identity construction developed, involving Albanian communities in Italy since the early decades of the 18th century.
