Abstract

Like all Albanian literature, Arbëresh literature has been conceived from the outset as a cultural production characterized by religious contents, forms, and functions, which continued to be present to varying degrees as motifs, codes, discourses, and topoi even after the birth and affirmation of a secular Arbëresh literature. This is due to a series of particular factors that characterize the cultural history of the Albanians of Italy.
