Abstract

The article discusses the current evolution of scholars' participation in major international history conferences. At a time when scientific communication is greatly accelerated by electronic tools, online publications and open access, various aspects of a form of scientific meeting that originated in previous eras appear problematic, raising the question of what changes they will undergo.
