Abstract

The main contribution of this paper is to provide a critical re-appraisal of the question of the nature of the firm. Analysing modern theory of the firm in light of the debate on the nature of the firm, we set the stage for an assessment of the multiple configurations of the theory of the firm. Hence, we provide an evaluation of the main contributions of the post-marshallians to the most recent debate.
