Non-Food Applications of Cardamom

Abstract

In addition to being widely used in food and nutraceutical applications, cardamom could have various applications in the non-food industry. Alternative applications of cardamom have a reduced environmental impact and are, therefore, to be encouraged. Furthermore, its chemical composition gives it an essential insecticidal activity, making it a potential substitute for conventional insecticides. Cardamom waste products could have further uses. This chapter aims to give an updated shot at the applications of cardamom in the non-food industry.
