Abstract

The anonymous Cronica Sicilie of the XIVth century, which is one of the most important Latin chronicles of medieval Sicily, contains a letter, which dates from around 1244, from the emperor Frederick II to his son and heir Conrad. This letter is a small speculum principis and, between late XIVth and early XVth century, was translated into vernacular languages, both in Catalan and Sicilian.
