ALESSIO COLLURA

Dagli "Acta Pilati" all’"Evangelium Nicodemi", dall’"Evangelium Nicodemi" a "Sens et razos d’una escriptura". Sulla fonte principale del "Vangelo occitano di Nicodemo"

Abstract

The article studies the Evangelium Nicodemi (Gospel of Nicodemus), a successful apocryphal about Christ’s Passion and Resurrection. Actually, the interest generated by the Gospel of Nicodemus is determined not only by the fortune of the work but also by the completely current problematic of its text and of its historical placing. From a point of view that concerns more the Medieval Studies than the Classical Studies, and that pertains more the Romance Studies (the Occitan ones particularly) than the Apocryphal Studies, the article intends to update the critical panorama about the Evangelium Nicodemi. Particularly, it focuses on the Romance tradition of the text and it makes the Medieval Latin tradition of the Nicodemian apocryphal the necessary starting point for defining the main source of the Occitan poem Sens e razos d’una escriptura, better known as ‘Occitan Gospel of Nicodemus’.
