By the student
Prerequisites: Access to the internship is permitted upon completion of at least 18 credits (ECTS). The number of credits is 9, for a total of 225 hours.
Procedure:
- Find an organization or company from the list of affiliated and accredited companies and organizations on the Almalaurea Portal. It is not possible to complete the internship at a non-affiliated company or organization.
- Contact the chosen company to express your desire to undertake the internship, using the email address on Almalaurea.
- Upon confirmation from the company, the student must prepare the internship application by completing the online form. The name of the academic tutor may be specified in the application if the student has previously contacted a professor available to fill the position; otherwise, the tutor will be assigned automatically.
- The completed and signed application must be sent by email to the degree program secretary (cicsi@unipa.it), as an attachment only in PDF format. The file must be titled as follows:
- For example, Internship_three-year_admission_application_Mario_Rossi_matriculation_number_12345.pdf
- The email subject must be "Application for admission to the internship followed by the student's name, surname, and matriculation number."
- For example, Internship_three-year_admission_application_Mario_Rossi_matriculation_number_12345.pdf
- The student must register on the Almalaurea Portal by logging into the Student Portal, selecting "More" -> "Almalaurea Access" and clicking the "Register/Login" button. Registration will be completed after entering all the required information.
What happens after submitting the application: The secretary will forward the application to the Internships and Traineeships Committee, which will review the documentation and, if approved, assign or confirm the academic tutor. Upon approval, the company, the student, and the academic tutor will receive an email confirming the application's acceptance.

By the company
Procedure:
- The company selects a company tutor and confirms their availability to host the student for the entire duration of the internship.
- The company tutor must wait for the email accepting the internship application from the Internships and Traineeships Committee, to which he must respond with acceptance. The email will indicate the academic tutor with who the company tutor must contact to agree on the training project for the student.
- The company must:
- - Log in to the Almalaurea platform
- - Go to the "MANAGE YOUR INTERNSHIPS" section
- - Select "INSERT NEW TRAINING PROJECT" and follow the instructions to upload the project to the platform.
- After the training project has been approved by the academic tutor, the company tutor must download the training project document to have it
signed by the student and signed and stamped by the company tutor. The company tutor must upload the signed document on Almalaurea Portal.
Note: The "APPROVED NOT ACTIVE" status of the internship does not allow its activation and means that the project has been approved by the academic tutor but the documentation is not complete.
Helpful tips: The internship start date must be at least 15 days after the training project is uploaded to the Almalaurea Portal.
Furthermore, it is recommended to enter an internship end date significantly later than the estimated end date. If the internship is concluded before the indicated date, it is always possible to request early termination upon completion of the required hours.
By the academic tutor
If the internship project corresponds to what was agreed, the academic tutor approves it.
Final requirements to complete the internship
The end of the internship period will be notified via an automatic email from Almalaurea, on the end date indicated by the company tutor. If the internship ends before the indicated date, the company tutor (through the Almalaurea Portal) may request early termination due to completion of the required number of hours.
The student will complete the signature sheet and the final report. The signature sheet does not need to be signed by the academic tutor. The final report must be completed in its entirety and signed by the student and both tutors. The student will email a copy of the signed Final Report and the signature sheet to the Degree Program Secretariat (cicsi@unipa.it). The two files must be in PDF format only, and titled as:

Once the internship has been completed, the system will automatically send to the student and to the company tutor the mandatory evaluation questionnaire of the internship experience to be filled.
Only after completing the final phase, the student must register for the exam session, which can be found on the Student Portal. There is no need to show up in person for the exam session. Upon the exam deadline, students will receive CFUs directly in their academic records.
Note: Communications from the offices to students will be sent via institutional email (Unipa community email), so students are encouraged to check their Unipa community email inbox regularly.
