Abstract
In Italy, since 1999, secondary school teacher training is centred on graduates who have taken a 4-6 year degree course. This training is given in the regional Scuola Interuniversitaria di Specializzazione per l''Insegnamento nelle Scuole Secondarie(SSIS), and lasts two years, using theoretical classes, laboratory and professional practice in schools.
