ROSA MARIA VITRANO

Dal consumo alla cura

Abstract

In order to investigate the processes of urban degradation caused by heavy anthropisation and land consumption, it is necessary to adopt an analytical-conceptual design approach starting from the specific problems of local habitats that is able to embrace the naturo-centric instance founded on the concepts of restorative and biophilic design, as emerging epistemological sectors of contemporary architectural research. The use of biophilic technological systems can in fact favour the creation of resilient urban metabolisms oriented towards a new sensorial perception of nature that supports and cares for our living environments. The GR.ITA research project, within the framework of the UNIPA-UGR (Italy-Spain) international convention, is based on this experimentation, and is aimed at investigating biomimicry processes and human-centred methodologies for the regeneration of urban environments. The experimental contexts of GR.ITA are: for Italy the City of Agrigento (Via Atenea and Viale della Vittoria), for Spain the City of Granada (Calle Reyes Catolico and Calle Acera Del Darro).
