Abstract

Review of architectural monstrances produced in Sicily between the 15th and 17th centuries. Analysis of compositional and stylistic characteristics. Framework in the broader historical, artistic and cultural context of reference with particular attention to the Iberian stylistic legacies. Miniature architecture that attests both to the persistence of the Catalan Gothic climate, but also to the transposition of the demands of the Italian Renaissance.
