Abstract

This chapter deals separately, on the one hand, with control over ships and, on the other hand, with control over States and the links between the two concepts, before making a concluding observation on the dichotomy proposed by Antonio Cassese, in his book "Il controllo internazionale" of 1971, between international controls in the "strict sense"Q and controls on private persons, but still of international significance (‘di rilevanza internazionale’).
