La misura del patio

Abstract

The void of the patio defines a confined space. In drawing a difference between an interior and an exterior, it is measured by the enclosure. Three actions distinguish an introverted confined space: closing towards the outside; the measure of its extension; the crossability between internal and open spaces. In this context, looking for the measure, to compose the seriality, to govern the repetition, outline three actions/objectives useful to define a project plan characterized by a seriality confirmed by the introduction of appropriate variations. Interpreter of an idea of the house intended as the last refuge of existence, the use of the patio fulfills the request for a weakening of the threshold of passage between inside and outside. Silent and assertive, suspended between exhibition and introversion, the spatiality of the contemporary domestic interior outlines the typology of reference in the patio.
