Geomorphological environment: dunes in Agrigento coast

Abstract

The coastline of San Leone (Agrigento) is characterized by sandy beaches delimited on the interior by a particular dunal complex. The geomorphological aspects of this coast have been influenced by a high degree of site anthropization and undergone advances and regressions over time. Several recommendations for reconstructing, maintaining, and defending the dunes are proposed and analyzed.
