Abstract
The story told here shows the protagonism recognized to architect Andrea Calamech and his drawings, probably made to moderate the problems of the Palermo building site of palazzo Reale. Work was done on this site for decades, inheriting previous projects and ideas and, therefore, it was subject to the changing intentions of the viceregal client and to the more or less awkward or approximate response of foremen and local technicians.
