Abstract
This paper provides a detailed analysis of Floating Photovoltaic (FPV) systems, highlighting their advantages over conventional ground-mounted solar PV installations. By deploying on water surfaces, FPVs not only alleviate land scarcity issues but also enhance power generation efficiency through water's cooling effects. Experimental comparisons between an FPV and a ground-mounted system under various conditions revealed that the FPV module exhibited a substantial increase in power output, with improvements up to 10%, and a noticeable reduction in operating temperature by several degrees Celsius. These findings underscore FPVs' potential to significantly boost renewable energy production efficiency while contributing to water conservation and reducing environmental impacts.
