Abstract
The results of the first year of observations (2007) on several accessions (13, 12 and 22) of Mentha aquatica, M. suaveolens and M. spicata, collected in the Nebrodi area (NE Sicily), are reported. The investigation focused on the main bio-morphological characters (flowers, leaves and stem), measured on a regular basis. The analysis of the data obtained by CA and PCA allowed an initial characterization of the collected accessions and a summary association between the morphological parameters considered and some climatic and altitudinal characteristics of the collection sites.
