AURELIO BURGIO

L'insediamento di Vito Soldano

Abstract

Vito Soldano (Canicattì, central Sicily) is a large and important site, characterized by a thermal building and other residential buildings; it was generally thought to be a mansio, along the Roman road connecting Catania to Agrigento. The paper is focused not only on the site, but also on the topographical context: the presence of other sites in the area could suggest that the mansio was located in a place not far from Vito Soldano.
