Active Research fields

Our research activity essentially covers three parts. 
i) Characterization of quantum entanglement, correlations and coherence for both identical and nonidentical quantum particles.
ii) Dynamics and protection of quantum coherence and correlations in open quantum systems.
iii) Design of experiments to confirm the theoretical predictions.
 

Research projects of the last 5 years

  • 2019-2022. Project coordinator CORI-2019-D3-D26-162050, Contribution for the launch and development of international collaborations of the University of Palermo. Universities involved: University of Oxford (UK) & University of Hong Kong (China).
  • 2016-2018. Project coordinator CORI-2016-C-D07-162050, Contribution for the launch and development of international collaborations of the University of Palermo. Universities involved: University of Nottingham (UK), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain).
  • 2014-2015. Joint international project between Univesidade de São Paulo and University of Nottingham, funded by CAPES do Ministerio da Educac.o do Brasil (project number 108/2012) within the "Science without Frontiers" program of the federal government of Brazil. Project title: Theory and applications of general quantum correlations for quantum information science.
  • 2013-2015. Project FFR, Number 2012-ATE-0557, Unique Project Code (CUP) B71J12001840001, entitled: Dynamics and correlations in quantum systems in proximity to material surfaces even out of balance.
