Active Research fields

Study of biochemical mechanisms of programmed cell death and autophagic process in tumor cell lines in culture. Analysis of the combined effects of ant.tumor compounds with low degree of toxicity.

 

Evaluation of nutraceutical properties (anti tumor, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant) of subtropical fruit extracts and identification of the mechenisms involved.

Active research

-          Cell culture laboratories with laminar flow hoods, CO2 cell incubators, centrifuges, -80°C and  -20°C freezers, liquid nitrogen containers.   Fluorescence microscope (Leica DC 300F) and optical microscopes.   FACS (EPICS XL with EXPO32 software). A molecular biology laboratory with spectrophotometer UV/VIs, chemical hood, a PCR instrument gel electrophoresis and western blot eqiupment and chemidoc , sonicator, real time instrument, fluorimeter.
