"El cuerpo de Giulia-no" de Jorge Eduardo Eielson: cuerpo fisico y cuerpo mental

Abstract

El cuerpo de Giulia-no de Jorge Eduardo Eielson is a discontinous and elusive text. Written in the 1950s but unpublished until 1971, it is an undoubtedly innovative work which thwarts the readersʼ expectations due to its fragmentary composition, elliptical tendencies, and the underlying dialogue amongst literature, visual arts and science running throughout the text. In this article, I analyse one element of the novel which expresses in an evident way the relationship between literature, theatre and visual arts: The body of its protagonist—Giulia— which is a physical and a mental body, according with the Buddhist vision of Eielson
