The actual performances of Building Automation systems are often lower than the ideal ones. In order to investigatethe actual performance of a Building Automation system for lighting control, a large stock of collected data, including indoor illuminance and absorbed electric power, have beenpresentedand analysedin this paper. The measures have been taken during oneyear, in a laboratory located at the University of Palermo, where different lighting control systems, produced by two different manufacture companies, have been installed. As demonstrated in literature, manyfactors affecting energy savings’ evaluation inlighting control systemsarethe position and the typology of the sensors and their configuration. Furthermore, using the collected data, a set of indiceshasbeen calculated. It is able to test the performance of the systems in terms of energy efficiency and fulfilmentof visual comfort tasks, according to different natural light availability, lighting system configurationsandtime scenarios. Finally, the performances of the two above lighting controlsystems havebeen compared.
