Metodo per la realizzazione di un’opera costruttiva modulare per la protezione del territorio e detta opera

Abstract

The patent consists of an advanced technique for the modular elements construction, made with organic waste materials. These elements are used for land protection within the Soil and Water Bioengineering works. The linear work with anti-erosion function, consolidating and stabilizing of slopes, consists of modules (Roll Modular Fascine, RFM) made with the residues of vine pruning and with the residues of a marine plant, Posidonia oceanica beached. The work is made with waste materials. The material to make the module consists of vine prunings, collected with specialized agricultural machines. The fascines have a diameter of 40 cm and a length of 60 cm. Their density can be varied by acting on a special selector of the machine. The low density modules are filled with a pre-seeded cultivation substrate, consisting of a mixture of beached P. oceanica. The residues of P. oceanica only partially replace the soil, allowing plants growth. The wooden part of the work must resist only for the time of rooting and development of the native species, after which the resistant action will be exerted by the root systems. The final work will be realized connecting longitudinally the single elements with a cable. Differently from the common works, the proposed patent is less time consuming and, thanks to assembling system, will be able to resist to the thrust from earthfill. Advantages: i) product, made with local and low-cost reuse materials; ii) better structural strength than traditional works; iii) reduction of production times and installation of the product; iv) reduction of CO2 emissions linked to reuse; v) aesthetic quality of the final product; vi) mitigation of the waste product disposal problem. Applications: i) Nature-Based Applications; ii) Hillslope Stabilization; iii) Anti-erosion actions and bank defence strategy.
