ARMANDO BISANTI

Tradizione fedriana e tradizione orientale nela favolistica mediolatina - Status quaestionis

Abstract

This paper bids a wide-ranging point of view on the latin fable during the Middle Ages and, particularly, on the works of Baldo (Novus Aesopus), John of Capua (Directorium humanae vitae) and Raymond of Béziers (Liber Kalilae et Dimnae) who, in different ways, was inspired by the Kalila and Dimna, an arabic translation of the indian Pañchatantra. The paper is mainly dedicated to the general aspects of the problem and on the biographic and bibliographical matters of the three medieval authors, hoping for forthcoming studies and researchs.
