Abstract

From the post-unification period to the present day, the Italian economy has changed significantly from its mainly agricultural origins to its current predominantly service-oriented nature. This has led to remarkable political and social transformations that have inevitably also had consequences for the world of work. Resorting to a wide variety of sources ranging from statistical data to the testimonies of the protagonists of the events narrated, the book reconstructs the evolution of the world of work in Italy, recomposing it in a wide-ranging overview.
