Dear colleagues,

we are pleased to announce and invite you to join the International Conference Innovations for Sustainable Crop Production in the Mediterranean Region (ISPAMED). This conference is organized by the Department of Agricultural, Food and Forest Sciences (SAAF), University of Palermo.

ISPAMED will be held at the Main Lecture Hall “Gian Pietro Ballatore” of the SAAF from 12 to 13 July 2023. Participation and attendance of ISPAMED will be free of charge for 20 young research (under 35) selected by a scientific committee.

ISPAMED 2023 Organizing Committee has decided to extend the deadline for the new abstract submission until 15th June 2023, to give everyone more time to prepare their submissions.

This conference will afford an open scene for agricultural scientists and agronomists to discuss current challenges and share their latest research achievements in agricultural science. The topics of the conference will be organized around the following sessions:

  1. Climate change, biodiversity and Mediterranean production;
  2. Enhancement of water resources and food safety;
  3. Economic aspects, sustainable crop production and consumption models;
  4. Emerging and re-emerging plant diseases in a context of climate change;
  5. Sustainable greenhouse production systems for vegetable crops.

After the conference, all participants will be encouraged to submit a full paper to one dedicated Special Issue in Agronomy (ISSN: 2073-4395, Impact Factor: 3.949 (2023)). Selected manuscripts by a scientific committee will be published with a 100% discount on the Article Processing Charge (APC). Furthermore, ISPAMED will finance the APC of manuscripts from the 20 selected young researchers with a contribution of € 500,00 per manuscript, offering free attendance, free accommodation, and a certificate of attendance.
