Although its origins and activity are firmly rooted within the Sicilian environment, the University of Palermo has always had a prominent place in international exchanges with universities from European and Mediterranean area, as well as other more distant regions.  

Our university is active in the student and lecturer mobility programmes of the European Union, specially Socrates (Erasmus).

We have exchange contracts with more than 120 different institutions and every year over 500 students have the opportunity to either come to Palermo or travel to other universities to study, therefore enriching both their own experience and the understanding of other institutions and countries.
