The Special Prize is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Gaetano Cottone, judge of 'Cassazione' and citizen who always payed much attention to the social and political changes of his city.
The prize is a fellowship attributed to clever universitary students highly motivated to continue their studies.
The prize will be assigned annually, on the basis of hints given to the Committee by the Social Centers that work in Palermo, within the same terms established every year for the 'Alessandro Cestelli' Prize.
The Special Prize has been inserted among the initiatives of the Organizing Committee of the 'Alessandro Cestelli' Prize in consideration of the deep affection and the mutual esteem that bound Alessandro and Gaetano while still alive and of their common interest for the cultural and social development of the city of Palermo.
