The Human Anatomy Section of the Department of Experimental Biomedicine and Clinical Neurosciences is in Via del Vespro 129, Palermo, at 1 km from Railway Central Station and 50 m from Vespri Metro Station.

The actual Human Anatomy Section of the Department of Experimental Biomedicine and Clinical Neurosciences (formerly Institute of Human Anatomy) was built on 1933 and it constantly expanded its laboratory spaces and personnel. Presently, the Laboratories occupy a surface of more than 600 mq, while didactic spaces are on a total of more than 900 mq. Our laboratories include: Histology and Histochemistry, Transmission Electron Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Cell Culture Rooms, Biotechnology Lab, Molecular Biology Lab, Proteomics Lab, Zebrafish aquarium.
Our group include 16 Teachers of Human Anatomy (Human Anatomy is taught in more that 35 Schools of the Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Motor Sciences and Biological Sciences at Palermo University), ten Fellows of our PhD programme in "Molecular and Experimental Medicine" and almost 20 students of different Faculties.
We investigate, by different models, on cell differentiation, tissue homeostasis and organ remodelling in normal as well as pathophysiological conditions.
